JCI East Kowloon September Monthly Meeting and Fellowship Gathering topic was ‘Good Light, Night’. How people can have a good sleep, we should have a good light to let you sleep better and light up your room to make every night sparkle. It could be used as indoor decoration as well. It was an amazing and interesting topic for members and friends to customize their own alphabet light with flowers.
Fellowship gathering is an opportunity for members to get support from each other, network and friendship. Every month we have organize different gathering for members gather. September monthly meeting was organized by three new prospective members as organizing committee for this delicate art project. It was their first time to organize the project and program was very smooth. All members and friends were enjoyed it so much and had a wonderful moment for the workshop.
During the monthly meeting, Board of Directors presented the last month projects and promoted the upcoming projects for everyone.
We were honored to invite Mr. Ming Leung from LCM Leather Workshop located in Causeway Bay for pressed flowers alphabet night light workshop. It can relax your mind and let your creativity shine in this fabulous workshop. The workshop could help us unwind and reset when you are feeling overwhelmed or need a mood booster.
Working with flowers make you feel more productive and positive which is useful when you need to de-stress. The workshop was held with two hours and covered by professional instructors and details as follows: –
1. Describe the production process and learn precautions of pressed flower with
basic glue application (defoaming, mixing skills)
2. Zero basic learning to make an epoxy resin night light composed of your own
name
3. Carefully selects your favorite color of each piece with the romantic flowers and arrange them in creative patterns inside the alphabet mold.
The world is full of flowers. The markets showcase stunning bouquets of sunflowers, roses and more. September’s plethora of blooms in bright simmer reds, yellows and purples shouts with joy and happiness.
The materials are included preserved flower, resin, high-quality hardwood base USB LED light. We kept a few different sizes and shapes of flowers on hand to work with.
Members and friends were concentrating on their artwork and got the experience sharing from the speaker. Mr Leung provided step by step guidance through the flower pressing process. We could know more about the flowers seasonal that have a special meaning and color contrast to display in your own product.
The September 2022 monthly meeting and fellowship gathering had 20 members and friends joined and glad to see everyone enjoyed the workshop. They shared their own artwork to other members. Moreover, members could know each other more with these interests in this workshop.
Everyone was holding their own alphabet flower light with happy face. We celebrated the September’s Birthday star together. This is a good opportunity to gather with members and friends in one place.
The workshop made it so great because of we were pleased to have Chairman Membership Affairs Officer Steven Shi and his organizing committee prospective members are Miffy Fung, Isabella Lo and Joen Chan to have this creative event for members. The team of this event also thank you Membership Affairs Area Advisor 1981 President and Honorary Life Member Senator Allan Leung for the great guidance and support. Last but not least, Thank you President Christine Ho for all the suggestion and make the event successfully completed. Thank you Supervising officer Vice President Lucas Tong and Master of Ceremony Jerry Long to present the event efficiency.
