JCI Hong Kong, China Holds 2025 Inaugural Ceremony successfully with Distinguished Guests and Global Youth Representatives** 

Hong Kong, January 4, 2025

Junior Chamber International (JCI) Hong Kong, China celebrated its 2025 inaugural ceremony at the Hong Kong Arts Centre, marking the beginning of a new leadership year under the theme “We are Leaders.” The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Secretary for Security Mr. Tang Ping-keung, GBS, PDSM, JP**, as the Guest of Honor, alongside representatives from the Central Government’s Liaison Office in Hong Kong and the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Nearly 10 international youth delegations also attended, reflecting JCI’s global network and commitment to fostering cross-cultural leadership.  

The inauguration ceremony was marked by lighting four colored bulbs representing different leadership qualities by JCI President Keisuke Shimoyamada, JCI Hong Kong, China President Rafael Wong, JCI Vice President Ben Mak, and Inaugural Ceremony Committee Chairman sYannes Wong. This symbolized leading over 2,200 young leaders to shine on various stages in 2025, contributing to social harmony.

“Inspiring Leadership for a Better Society”

In the keynote speech of GOH Mr. Tang Ping-keung, he emphasized the essence of true leadership, stating that it goes beyond authority and decision-making—it requires a heart for service, vision, and the ability to inspire change.  “An outstanding leader transforms personal aspirations into team goals, but an even greater leader aligns those goals with societal needs, driving positive impact,” he remarked. He encouraged young leaders to leverage JCI’s international platform to broaden their perspectives, refine their leadership skills, and effectively share the stories of China and Hong Kong with the world.  

Commitment to Leadership Development and Community Service

JCI Hong Kong, China National President Rafael Wong outlined our mission for 2025, reinforcing its dedication to nurturing future leaders and serving the community. Under this year’s theme, “We are Leaders,” the organization will launch initiatives aimed at promoting social harmony, youth empowerment, and leadership excellence.  

 **A Global Gathering of Young Leaders**  

The ceremony also served as a convergence point for youth representatives from different countries, fostering cross-border collaboration and idea exchange. The presence of international delegates highlighted JCI’s role as a bridge for cultural and professional development among young professionals.  

Social Impact by collaborating with HK Social Entreprises

The event also collaborated with several social enterprises, successfully raising youth awareness of social enterprises and promoting positive social change. JCIHK has always provided a platform for young people to shine. Performers included blind singer Choi Lok Si, Sharon who inspired youth to pursue their dreams courageously with the song “Fan Xing,” and the “Senior-Junior Dance Troupe” composed of elderly and children who gave energetic performances.

The event concluded on a high note, with attendees expressing enthusiasm for the year ahead—a testament to the power of leadership, service, and global connectivity.
